Proverbs 3:9-10 — Para-Para-Paradox

READ THIS: Proverbs 3:9-10

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY?

Alright squad, who here has heard of a paradox?! It's basically when something sounds like it couldn't be possible but it actually is possible. For example, a good paradox is "If I know one thing, it's that I know nothing."

The above proverb is its own kind of paradox. It's saying if we give up what we have to God, we will actually have more. How can we have a bunch of stuff if we give up all of our stuff? That doesn't make sense...but it does!

There have been times in my life where I thought to myself, "I physically do not have the time to talk to that person right now because I have so much homework and other things." But, then, they would be sad or have something they needed to talk about, and because I knew Jesus wanted me to stop, I stopped. The times that that happened, somehow my homework would take half the amount of time that it should have, and I would perform better on it than I should have.

When we give our best to God when He asks us to do something, God gives us so much more than we can imagine!!

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. What's something that you have given to God that you feel like He multiplied? (In my example, it was time. In the proverb, it was fruit).

2. What do you feel like you have wealth in? Money? Friends? Time? Talent? How can you give that to God?

TRY THIS:

Come up with a paradox that describes God!
