Ephesians 6:18-20 — Your armor on? What about his?!

READ THIS: Ephesians 6:18-20

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY?

We just finished going through all the pieces of the armor of God, but what's interesting is this: verse 18 starts with the word "AND." This whole section is lowkey still a part of the armor. Keep reading in verse 18 and see how it says "with this in mind." THIS is the armor of God!! The armor of God is linked to prayer!

If we struggle to put on the helmet of salvation or the belt of truth or any of the others, then the way we go about strapping those on is through prayer! It is the armor of GOD...if we want to wear something that is God's, we might want to ask Him for it first, right?

Part of what we need to pray for, though, is not just that we wear the armor, but that the people around us, including our leaders, wear the armor!

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. What pieces of armor would help Paul declare the gospel fearlessly? (Verses 19 and 20 is where this question comes from)

2. Do you ever pray for the people who lead you? Like your parents, teachers, people in the government, people at church, etc? Why or why not?

TRY THIS:

Take a second and think about one of your leaders and what piece of armor they might need today. Ask God to help that person strap that piece of armor on!
