Galatians 6:7-10 — Good Seeds? Good fruit!
READ THIS: Galatians 6:7-10
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY?
Can you imagine planting apple seeds in the ground, waiting for the seeds to grow, but when the fruit is fully grown, you end up with oranges instead? That's not how it works! Apple seeds don't make oranges, and orange seeds can't make apples. The same thing applies to how we live.
If we choose to plant fleshly/worldly seeds, we shouldn't expect to end up looking like Jesus. But if we take the time to plant the seeds of the fruit of the Spirit, we can start to see the fruit of the Spirit in our daily lives. If our hearts are focused on doing good, our actions will follow that!
THINK ABOUT IT:
1. What types of seeds are you planting right now, worldly ones or seeds of the Spirit?
2. What is something you can let go of that leads you to plant worldly seeds?
TRY THIS:
43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
