Galatians 3:26-29 —TWINSIES

 READ THIS: Galatians 3:26-29

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY?

I kind of think of these verses like this: a mission trip where we all wear the same shirt and walk around. It doesn't matter if you're a dude, a girl, tall, small, whether you're from one country or another, or if you look a certain way. Y'all are wearing the same shirt. People look at you, they know nothing about you except that 1) you know each other and 2) you have enough joy in your group to actually wear matching shirts.

In Jesus, we are all wearing matching shirts. It's like the jersey concept on a sports team...when you're a part of the team you have matching jerseys. When we're in Jesus, we all have the matching Holy Spirit. That makes us start to look pretty similar even when we're still very different.

Verse 29 starts to get into something else, which we will discuss more tomorrow!

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. Why do you think we wear matching shirts sometimes for different things?

2. When (if ever) have you felt the most like we are all one in Jesus?

TRY THIS:

Text a friend and wear a matching shirt with them either today or tomorrow!!! If someone asks, you can talk about how you did it because of something you read in the Bible!
