Proverbs 9:1-6 — Ain't Nobody Getting Left Out

READ THIS: Proverbs 9:1-6

1 Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. 2 She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. 3 She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city, 4 “Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says, 5 “Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. 6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”

WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY?

Wisdom's house is large and roomy enough to accommodate all who wish to live there. No one is left out or ignored at the door of Wisdom's house. What a cool reminder that every person is welcomed in to receive God's wisdom! 

God has no boundaries on who can receive His wisdom. We can receive His wisdom no matter what stage of life we are in or what our relationship looks like with God. God has no intention of turning us away from asking for His wisdom... In fact, He wants us to walk a path guided by His wisdom. When we walk a path guided by His wisdom, we have to be open to new people who approach us about God! God does not close doors because they don't seem worthy, He opens the door wider. So as His followers, we must do the same! Bring Jesus into the conversations you have, especially when it comes to wisdom!

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. How can you be more inviting to God's wisdom?

2. Who is one person you want to talk to about Jesus? How can you connect with them today?

Think about that person from question 2. I challenge you to reach out to them today and talk to them about Jesus! Find more about their faith and help them ask for God's wisdom!

Luke 8:19-21 — Jesus's Fam!

R EAD THIS:  Luke 8:19-21 19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” 21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.” WHAT’S THIS MEAN, ANYWAY? Ummmm, hold up, is Jesus dissing on His family here? I mean, I know He is God's Son and all, but at first glance, this passage makes it seem like He is kind of hating on His family!
